Chalkos Beach

One of the most beautiful beaches of Kythira. Located south of Kalamos, at a distance of just 2.7 km. The beach is made of white pebbles, is organized and serviced by a snack bar.

Fyri Ammos beach

The name Fyri means deep red, taken by the color of its pebbles, which extend to a length over 1 km. It is a beach with deep waters, it is located northeast of Kalamos, just 4km away. Fyri Ammos is organized and serviced by a snack bar.

Kapsali

It is one of the most significant resorts of the island, due to its impressive beauty. The beach, in its major part is made of white pebbles, in the rest made of sand. A multitude of shops, restaurants, cafe, and patisseries along the coastal road are meeting points for tourists and the local community.

Kythira (Chora)

The capital of the island. The settlements are consisted of white houses and narrow streets, all concentrated behind the impressive venetian castle. It Chora, the visitor can find many tourist attractive shops, restaurants, taverns and cafe. Worthy of visit are also the archaeological place of the castle and the Historical Archive of Kythira.

Melidoni Beach

Popular organized beach, southwest of Kythira and south of the village Drymonas. It is made of tiny pebbles and has a gorgeous view to the rock island Avgo (or Chytra).

Kaladi Beach

The most beautiful beach of Kythira. Located east of the island, north of the village Avlemonas. The beach is made of white pebbles, and seams to be separated in two parts by an impressive rock located in the middle. Visitors may enjoy there endless suntan and relax.

Cave of Saint Sofia of Kalamos

In the small settlements of Spilies, a few meters beneath, in the middle of a lush ravine, the cave of Saint Sofia is located.

At the entrance of the cave, the small chapel of Agia Sofia is built, and the impressive cave is extended behind. The navigation needs much caution, since the cave is very slippery. To navigate and explore the stalagmites and the stalactites, you have to be equipped with a torch.
